The Copenhagen-based stylist and co-founder of The Garment is every minimalist's muse

Need some shopping inspiration? In Lucky 13, fashion tastemakers share the 13 items they’re loving so much, they’d hit “Add to Cart” twice.

Sophia Roe has established The Garment as a highlight on the Copenhagen Fashion Week calendar in three short years since co-founding it with designer Charlotte Eskildsen. The Danish creative's refined, minimalist style already had a following of five hundred thousand-plus before she channeled it into a clothing label. Now, it's available internationally via SSENSE and Luisaviaroma, in the form of deliciously soft knitwear, tailored suiting separates, and evening dresses—all in a true minimalist's palette of gradated neutrals.

The Garment's latest show, held in a cavernous gallery populated by larger-than-life marble statues at Copenhagen's Thorvaldsens Museum, was the most assured manifestation of Roe's taste yet. "I think this time I felt much more confident in all that I do working on the brand—everything from casting to art direction to styling," she told BAZAAR. "We are still a very small team and do everything in house. It is always fun seeing everything coming together in the end. "

Her runway collections and her personal style share the same close-to-home muses. "I am always inspired by Danish women, being so confident in both her masculine and feminine energy. It shows in the way we are dressed and her grounded attitude on the streets," Roe said. On her latest runway, this balance appeared as a mix of '80s menswear suiting and romantic crochet and tableware-inspired linens. In the Lucky 13 items she shared with BAZAAR, it manifests as sculptural jewelry, textured bags, and separates with rich textures—heavy on labels like Saint Laurent, The Row, and Alaïa.

"I was never into hoops, but recently fell for these. After styling our Spring/Summer show I realized I need to be better at using statement jewelry with staple pieces."

"The best way to source inspiration, or to dig into an era, is always through books. If not online we buy them abroad. We have quite a collection now."
